Line Stop
The HTM (hot tapping machine) has a fixture that introduces a plug through the hole previously drilled. This plug blocks the flow in the pipe under pressure, to make, e.g, a repair.The downstream section of the pipe after the plug stays de-pressurized. After finishing the repair, the HTM removes the plug and then the HTM is removed. Your service is done, with state-of-the-art technology, fast and safe.
It happens when two HTM's are installed, blocking the flow in the segment between them, to remove safely that part of the line.

Double Line Stop By-Pass
This technique is applied when flow cannot be stopped. First two tie-ins are installed plus valves in both sides of the section to be repaired, then a hot-tapping is performed where an auxiliary section of pipe is installed between the two valves. Then the HTM's are installed side by side to the two valves, in the inner portion of pipe, and both plugs are set. The auxiliary pipe is working, without stopping flow. After repair, the machines are removed and flow returns to the original pipe. Valves are closed and the auxiliary pipe removed.
