Case: Plant Stoppage

Customer: Siderar / Techint
Location: Steel Mill at San Nicolas - Argentina
Job: Quenching  Tower  II - Coke Plant
Job Description : Controlled Demolition of concrete tower to quench coke carried by railcars.
Size: 30 meters high; 155m ² diamond wire sawn.
Ekipe-C: Cutting and removal of 20 ton ave. weight pieces, being the heaviest of 90 tons.

dutoReasons for specifying Controlled Demolition: A smoke duct in concrete with refractory inner lining under the structure to be demolished precluded any impact or vibration that might interrupt the exhaust due to collapse. Time was also a determining factor, since while this "chimney" was disassembled, a sole Quenching Tower had to process all coke production for the Steel Mill. EKIPE-C's  job completion time was 13 days.
